Ireland PM Leo Varadkar visits his ancestral village in Konkan

Mumbai: Ireland Prime Minister Leo Varadkar on Sunday visited his genealogical town along with his relatives in the beachfront Sindhudurg region of Maharashtra, calling it "an exceptionally extraordinary minute".

It was his first visit to the town of Varad in Malvan tehsil, around 500 km from Mumbai after he became executive in June 2017.

The visit was an "extraordinary minute" as three ages of his family had accumulated, the Ireland executive said after the residents congratulated him.

He likewise visited the sanctuary of the town god.

"I am here with my folks, my sisters and their spouses, my accomplice and some grandkids are here...so it is a major family visit," the Ireland PM said.

It was "extraordinary minute" for them as three ages of his family were visiting "a position of my granddad", he said.

"I am on the private visit here starting at now, however, I might want to visit this spot again in the official limit," Varadkar included.
